How Does Messenger Marketing Work?
Messenger marketing has a few moving parts and does require an investment in time to setup properly. However, the rewards to your business will be instantly visible. So it’s worth the time. Of course, you can also hire our wonderful virtual assistants to do this work for you and you will be paying very economical rates.
So what are the steps to setting up a proper Messenger campaign to convert website visitors into customers? There are three basic steps and four advanced steps (what we call Phase 1 and 2).
Phase 1
Step 1 – You must have a Facebook page for your business. It does not mean you must constantly monitor that page or produce content. It simply means that the conversations you will have with your website visitors will be tied to your Facebook page (more on this later).
In this regard, if you do not have a Facebook page setup for your business then you are losing a golden opportunity to create an audience of people who know, like and trust your business. Having a presence on Facebook is like having a personal assistant that redirects traffic from where people congregate to your business.
Step 2 – You must have a bot creation software. We recommend Manychat. Its free version allows you to build a list of 1,000 subscribers.
Step 3 – You must create a few chatbots (automated conversations) that mimic the conversations your prospects would have with you about your products and services. At the very least we recommend the following:
- A customer chatbot which resides on your website and behaves like a hotel concierge greeting visitors and helping to direct them to the right information.
- A general purpose chatbot that highlights your business / brand and entices your prospects to do business with you.
These first three steps will allow you to start seeing a difference in engagement with your visitors and in potential sales. This is because your bot will be collecting valuable information that you can use to move your visitors along in their customer journey.
